My mom talked to Kristin (my sister) this morning. She said on the way to school they always sing and pray to God.

Evidentally they take turns between Emma and Ella (my nieces).

This morning it was Emma’s turn. Kristin said she prayed for the Devil...that God would make him nicer because he liked to put people in the fire and that was not nice.

Highlight of My Week...

PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR COLLECTING STOOL SPECIMENS

Your doctor wants to perform a stool study. This test is performed by an outside reference laboratory and requires a sample of your stool. You will be given a sterile sample cup in which to collect the stool. You may collect it in the privacy of your own home and transport the sample back to us. if the sample cannot be brought back immediately, the stool specimen must be kept cold (in a cooler with an ice pack).

A convenient way to collect the stool is to place a newspaper in the commode before defecating. The newspaper keeps the sample floating, making it easier to access. Use a device such as a tongue depressor (which we provide) to scoop the stool into the cup. Please provide as much sample as possible. Seal the cup. Wad up the newspaper and discard (do not flush the newspaper). We can also provide you with nonsterile gloves if you desire.

When you return to our office with the sample, please make sure your name is on the cup and hand it to one of the laboratory staff. We will order the required tests and prepare it for sending out to our reference lab. The results should be available in 5-7 working days. The doctor will review the results and determine further actions if needed.

All I Want for Christmas is...2 New Tires?

Ah Christmas...a time of joy, a time for giving, a time for receiving those things you've been wanting for 12 whole months. For us, Christmas also means a road trip to the great town of Americus, Georgia to visit relatives on Laura's side of the family. We always have a great time! Good food, naps on the carpet, great gifts, the walk, and so much more. This year was no exception...

For us, drama began on the way home. The majority of the trip was hassle-free. Traffic - smooth. Weather - decent, but a little rainy. Vehicle - running great. Driver (that would be me) - not even drowsy. At about mile number 137.4 of our 162.05 mile drive we decided to take a bit of a detour. You see there's this house in Montgomery that really gets into Christmas. The rumor is that they have all of their lights sync'd to music. Since we were coming back thru Montgomery on Christmas Eve, we thought that would be a great thing to see in order to continue the warm, fuzzy feeling we had from our time in Americus...

So, we take the Mitilene exit off I-85, turn left onto Chantilly Parkway, then take a right onto Ryan Road...you with me so far because this is where it gets...interesting...

If you've ever been down Ryan Road...at night...whilst it's raining...it can be a bit tricky. You see, at a very important juncture in that road, it veers to the left. Of course this would be a lot easier to see if there were lights on that road! Unfortunately for us, there were none and when the road veered left, I kept straight.

The front tire looked just like this too...two flat tires on the passenger side of the CR-V on Christmas Eve. Needless to say, I was now lacking in Christmas cheer. Two flat tires...at 7:30 p.m. ...in the rain. After a call to Mom and Spiro, and watching car after car do the same thing I did without the same result, I got out in the rain and put the spare tire on the front so I could try to drive our wounded car into a church parking lot across the street. Our poor Honda had to spend Christams Eve and Christmas Day in a cold and lonely parking lot.

Christmas Day went great (we got to use Mom's car), but I knew the tire drama had to be drawn to a conclusion before work began again. After spending a large chunk of my day off (12/26) at Sam's, and handing over my hard earned Christmas money, the CR-V is now back in business with a brand new pair of Christmas tires.

Merry Christmas Honda...hope you enjoy...and lay off those vicious pot holes...I can take no more.

I Can't Drive 55!

First off, let me say thanks to the hot chick that hacked into my blog to prove to me that people do still check this thing...thanks babe!

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Will someone please explain to me why the interstate should EVER come to a complete stop for any reason other than an accident or lane closures. Moving to Prattville (I can see clearly now...the house has been completed for quite some time now), has given me the opportunity to partake in our fine Alabama interstate system. What has gotten me confused though, is when I am driving to work...on the interstate...no accidents or lane closings, why do I have to come to a complete stop? multiple times! I mean, think with me for a minute. If the first person on the interstate is driving 60 mph, then the next person shoudl be as well...so should the next, and the next, and the next, etc. Even if the first person pulls off on an exit, the next person doesn't have to stop completely. They just keep driving...does this make sense to anyone else?

I keep picturing in my head, the first person in the long line heading to Montgomery, just stopping on the interstate for no apparent reason...other than to tick off the rest of us trying to get to Mtgy to earn a living. If this is the case, who is this person and where can I find them?

Anybody have any thoughts to contribute?

8:28 revisited

Today is our 2-year anniversary (I realize most of you won't read this until tomorrow, but work with me). If you've missed out on the spiritual significance found in the date of our anniversary...click here.
Wow! 2 years have really flown by, and yet...it's hard for me to think of a time when Laura wasn't a part of my life. I guess that happens when you've found "the right one"... and I definitely have done that.

No one else makes me laugh harder or more often.

No one else is more fun to be with.
No one else is more beautiful...without even trying.
No one else cares more for her family and her friends.
No one else makes me more sure of myself.
No one else is more supporting, more loving, more incredible than my wife, Laura.
